SCOTT MAN and Friends...

Me

Me me me me me!!! So this is where I talk about me. I mean why not, this is a site made by me about me and for me... Soooooo, listen up! Please. You are going to be privy to my likes and dislikes and just all kinds of stuff about me. So get ready to be bored out of your skull 'cause I'm pretty average... I do tend to just spout off about all kinds of nothing once in a while, so make sure to reach out and smack me if I go on too long ok?

Well where do I start off... hmmm... I'll just do this... I'll start off with friends, alright? Katie. Katie is actually my girlfriend, but she is also my best friend... We met in high school and were friends and then about July of last summer we started hanging out again and then on August 12, 1999 we started officially dating... Wow, almost a year huh? Well I love her more than anything. She is so perfect, I love her family and her friends as well... She is the perfect woman and I got her! Woo Hoo! Its only fitting that she is the first one on the list though, I mean there is that whole ladies first "thing" and the fact that she is such a huge and important part of my life. This here picture was taken at AJ and Rebecca's wedding this year in Monterey. Doesn't Katie look spectacular? Don't you kids get any ideas she is spoken for! You try any shennanigans and you'll have to deal with Scott Man!

THE BOYS! So here we have my boys, well some of them anyways. SO here we have Evan, Steve, Simon, AJ, Me, Nigel, and Chad. These are just some of my bros. Evan is actually going off to the Navy this week, we'll miss him, Peace kid! We've got our Scottish historian Steve. I have just gotten to know Steve really well in the past few months, an I gotta say, this guy is totally awesome. He and his wife Beth and Katie and I go on little trips all the time. Its not too often that Steve and I don't get together once a week to smoke a pipe or two and ponder some of life's great questions. Steve also has some pretty interesting hobbies like Civil war reinactments and such. He is a web designer by trade, but he sure does know his history. Then we have Simon, brother to Nigel. Simon is a great guy as well. He works for Sun also, so he drops in on me from time to time to give me twinkies and just to cause some trouble. He is really into activities. He is an active snowboarder, dirt biker, rock climber, street bike rider, and some other stuff. He's also a real good friend. Aaron (AJ). This is another one of the boys that I have known for a long time, but mostly hung out with by association. AJ and I have in the past few months started to hang out a lot as well. Even though he's real busy just getting married and all, he is still pretty good about making "GUYS TIME." AJ is a marine biologist because he love fish. I mean you can ask this guy anything about the ocean or coral or some sort of ocean animal and he'll have an answer. He does it cause he loves it though, which is a very admirable thing. Very seldom you find someone who has the guts to follow through with something that thew really love. He's a really great friend ya know? I mean he'll always back you up when you need a bro. He's a great guy. Then there's Nigel, we call him Wedge. Talk about a down home-boy. Nigel and I go way back. I was in junior high and he was my staff guy at church group. We have been friends for so long. I have to say that Nigel is a very understanding guy and a killer friend. I mean he didn't get mad when I backed into his GTI back in the day. We have had a lot of great times. More BBQ's than I can count and more laughs than you could shake a fatty stick at. Talk about a fun guy, this is your man. Chad! Mister Tennessee BBQ'n drummer himself! Chad, is our comic relief. Not that he is an idiot, I am the idiot of the group, Chad is just funnier than anything! He is just witty and says the right stuff at the right time. He got married and moved off Tennessee where the music is. You can check out his web page on my links page. Chad has wisdom beyond his years and the advice to prove it. He is a great guy that is full of integrity and humor. Now, not in the picture there are some of my boys as well. We have Jake whom I call Jessup. Why? I have no idea! Jake is my guitar home boy, he's not in the picture, but I'll see if I can find a picture of him and get in here some time. Man, Jake and I have spent so many late nights in parking lots, coffee shops, people's houses and such just jamming along on our twin Taylor 710ce's. You'd be surprised at the kind of deep discussions that come up at 2 in the morning when you get some sort of a transic Pink Floyd style jam going. Unreal. Jessup is a good guy, I have heard many many people say what a cool cat he is. I think he's the most laid back out of all of the boys. He's a real good listener which is good cause I'm such a loud sweaty mex. What a guy, a super friend and a huge influence and mentor to my musical ability. Another great guy is Brian, brother to Brandon. This guy is a character, he's got a rockin sense of humor. He is a total life of the party type of guy, he can make anyone feel comfortable ya know? I mean he's a total conversationalist. He's also a really good guy to have on your side, he'll always have your back. Then we have the other crew. We've got Mark "I really like to moon people" Yoder, Travis (otherwise known as Tasty-T), Bryan Allen who is the funniest guy ever! Oh man, I sound like an idiot around him because I just laugh and laugh and laugh. Oh my. They are all great guys. Bryan lives in Santa Barbara now, so we don't see him too often, but we still keep in touch. So I think that's pretty much everybody except one... Brandon. Back in the day Brandon and I were pretty inseperable. I mean we rode to school together and saw eachother at school and then hung out after school and then all weekend. Its a wonder he never killed me for always hanging around. Just kiddin'. Brandon is the closest thing I'll ever have to a brother. Eventhough these days life has made it so that we don't see eachother as much as we used to, whenever we hang out its like we never skipped a beat. Ya know? I said earlier that Katie is my best friend, well I have two. Brandon and I are totally on the same page, its really cool. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am today in life had it not been for Brandon. Everything from my career choices to my deepest beliefs and ways of life. Brandon is the greatest friend anyone could ever ask for. He's the one you call at night if something goes wrong and you have no where to turn to. What a guy. Thanks man.

Are you sleepy yet? Well that's enough about people for now... Now lets talk about stuff. I bought this new car. I went out and got a 2000 Ford Mustang GT. Its such a killer car. I got every option except leather cause that stuff gets all sticky when its hot outside. I mean it beats the old trucks I used to have. I mean I can outperform most of your everyday cars, ya know? I love playing with those little import guys. Honda Civis SI? HAHAHAHA... Don't make me laugh. Anyways, its a nice car and I totally dig it. Its just nice to have somthing that you like when you commute in the worst traffice in the bay area. Also having a sports car is just fun. Isn't it pretty? Oh yeah baby! Katie actually picked it out, and isn't it funny, it had all the stuff that I wanted! Right on. Plus its a pretty cool car for a 19 year old to drive ya know? Anyways, this is my car and its something that I like...

Then we have what Jake and I would call "the guitar of life". Basically its a totally studly instrument. A Taylor 710ce. I actually have a 1997 model, the last year they used Indian Rosewood. It's a good thing too because the newer ones really don't have the lower end and the warm mid that my guitar and Jakes guitar have. I really have to give the credit to Jake though, I mean I saw and played his guitar and had to have one. Yes I am a copycat, but I'm okay with that! Things that I specifically like about my guitar... Hmmm, well lets start off with the fact that its a Taylor and I would say that if you are a serious guitarist who wants the most for their $$ in an acoustic guitar you need to check out Taylor Guitars. So yeah, it has Fishmann Onboard Electronics which sound awesome! It has an active acoustic microphone in the body and a killer bridge pickup that are controlled with the onboard electronics. I love the bass that the Indian Rosewood gets in the form of a dreadnaught guitar. Oh man, does it sound great. On top of that, when you tell other guitarists that you own a Taylor you get that "wow you're pretty dang cool" look, its a lot of fun. Also another good thing about the guitar is the cutaway. Man, I gotta tell you, not having a cutaway is murder in the hands, but its just so nice and easy to do a little soloing action with the cutaway. Some say that you sacrifice tone and volume with a cutaway. Well I say buy a great guitar like a Taylor and don't worry about it cause it won't get much better than that! So as you can plainly see I am in love with my guitar...

So that covers a lot of stuff, what else is there... hmmmm... oh yeah, my job. Well, sometimes I complain about my job, but that's just because its work and nobody likes to work when they could be sleeping or something like that. SO... I have to pay hommage to Sun. It's really a great company to work for. They pay me pretty well for only being 19 and there are a lot of hidden benefits. Aside from learning a bunch of cool stuff that I wouldn't have learned in school they provide some educational opportunities that are pretty cool. They are also really good about working around my school schedule and letting me work full time during breaks and during the summer. I have worked here for over a year now and am really happy with the company. There is a lot of room here for movement within the company which is cool because Sun is such a cool company. That's pretty much it, except for this; if you need a server or you're looking for a job in the technology industry go ahead and click the icon and check out Sun.
